Matt Clanton, founder of Act Tactical for Film, is a SAG-AFTRA performer, former police officer, and Black Belt/Certified Instructor in Israeli Krav Maga (primary hand-to-hand combat system of the Israeli Military). His police training and experience include Uniform Patrol, Shift Level Crime Scene Technician, High Risk Warrant Service, Officer Survival, Police Management/Supervision, and more.

His martial arts experience includes Israeli Krav Maga, Haganah F.I.G.H.T., Israeli Tactical Knife Fighting, Boxing, Kali, Eskrima, Silat, Jeet Kune Do & Filpino Dirty Boxing. He has worked in the film industry for 6 years, spending a majority of that time as a police/criminal technical advisor, fight choreographer, weapons prop creator, and instructor to actors.

He has been a fight/weapons technical advisor on a range of film and TV projects including: Debt, Birthday Cake: A Southern Gothic Tale, The Family Business, Redemptive Suffering, Standpoint: The Series, Extinction of Another Kind, Zombie Socks, The Agency, Unfollowed, and more. Matt has also has been a principal performer on Fox's The Following as an FBI SWAT operator and as a specialist skills performer as a SWAT operator on ABC's Resurrection.

As an Instructor Clanton offers speciality is proper firearms/tactics use and deployment including handguns, shotguns and rifles for film. He has served as a fight choreographer in addition to the tactical consulting he has done for films. He has choreographed tactical scenes ranging from solo unfiorm police officers/detectives to full SWAT teams and specialized units on screen.
